INJECTABLES

Injectables are the injections of specific solutions into your skin that reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles on your face. Injectables are either neuromodulators, such as Botox® or Dysport®, that temporarily stop the targeted muscles from moving, or fillers, such as Juvederm®, which plump up the injected area.

Injectables are a common non-surgical option to cosmetic surgery, providing instant results. Although injectables don’t produce permanent results (follow-up treatments are necessary to maintain results), there is no anesthesia, recovery time, or scarring. The procedures are also less expensive than cosmetic surgery.

DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that inject beneath the skin. It is a safe way to rejuvenate your face without surgery. Dr. Zakariaei offers the two most popular FDA-approved dermal fillers available: Juvederm and Restylane. These two fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance already found in your skin, helping to keep it plump and hydrated.The results from dermal fillers are immediate. Effects last between 6-12 months before your body naturally absorbs it.

SCULPTRA®

Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable that helps stimulate your skin’s natural collagen production. Collagen is a fibrous protein underneath the skin’s surface that provides structure to the skin and is crucial to maintaining your skin’s elasticity and hydration. Your body’s natural collagen production decreases by about 1% per year, starting after the age of 18.

Sculptra replaces the skin’s lost collagen using a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid. This material is a biodegradable substance that is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body. It is the same material frequently used in dissolvable stitches. Once the content absorbs into your body, it helps stimulate the production of collagen, which plumps up the skin and helps restore fullness below wrinkles and folds.

THREAD LIFT

Facial threading also referred to as a “thread lift” or “lunchtime lift,” is a procedure that lifts and tightens sagging skin from the lower portion of your face without surgery or incisions. It is a faster, less expensive option than a surgical facelift, with little recovery time.

The latest version of a threading facelift, which Dr. Zakariaei performs in his office, uses temporary, absorbable sutures under your skin to lift up and recontour sagging skin.

The thin sutures are attached to tiny cones that hold them in place, and also help lift and tighten from underneath. The cones made from natural materials reabsorb over time. The sutures and cones stimulate the production of collagen under your skin, which increases the look of fullness over time. Facial threading can improve the appearance of sagging jowls, cheeks, and neck.
